Hi
First Herpes presents itself in different ways sometimes not everyone has the same symptoms, some may have a mild OB the first time , some people may never have any symptoms at all... A bump could be many things, an ingrown hair, an swollen gland depends on where it is located, but then again it could be a sign of Herpes. If he experienced some mild itching and burning or both and then the bump appeared, good possibility, some people have a full blown OB, with fever, headache, swollen glands usually in genital area, extreme fatigue, body aches and pains, it can mimick the FLU, except for the bump or blisters appear where you first came in contact with the virus , it can take anywhere from 2-25 days after initial contact with an infected partner. My best advice would be for him to go and have a test for the virus but if it has been less then 4 months the test will most likely come back negative Herpes can take up to four months for the antibodies to show up in the blood stream after you are exposed so it is best to be re-tested if you get a first time negative just to be sure, The IgG is the best and most reliable on the Market.. Best Of Luck... Take Care
