OB from oral?

My husband has oral herpes. He usually gets an outbreak around his lips when he is out in the sun. Recently, he had an outbreak and within 3 days I got an outbreak (one spot) on my genitals. I've had genital herpes, but never oral herpes. I only get an outbreak about once every year. Usually my outbreak happens only when I have come in contact with the virus.

I did kiss my husband several times, but we didn't have sex (nor did he give me oral sex).

Is it possible for my herpes to give me an outbreak (or become activated) when I kiss my husband while he has an outbreak?

It's been so long since I had an outbreak, it's weird.

Also - anything besides valtrex to take to help?

Thanks

Re: OB from oral?

Hi I would have to say NO...... I just think you had a OB, There is also a chance he could have passed it during the shredding period if you had oral, but kissing you and triggering a genital OB, NO! Stress as you know can trigger OB's, Is there anything you are overly stressing out about lately???? I take valtrex also, I have recently learned of L-sine from another member, it is a Herbal Vit it helps regenerate tissue, I take 1000 mg once a day on an empty stomach and it helps me a lot.... I have also , haven't tried it yet but heard good things about Lemon balm, the pill and the cream. Medivar cream But I think you can only order that over the Internet. Feel Better...

Re: OB from oral?

I don't think I asked my question right. I want to know if a woman has had a genital herpes outbreak and months later had oral sex with her partner, would she have to be concerned about an outbreak on/in her mouth?

No...if you have genital it will not cause you to have an OB on your mouth. But, you did mention that your husband has it orally which you may now have. Even if you kiss him when there are no visible signs of an OB the risk of transmission is still there.
