Sex Drive

Has anyone else found that their sex drive has been affected by having herpes? Mine has definitely diminished compared to what it was like before. Now I feel like I can quite easily go without sex and it doesn't bother me, in fact I find it a bit of an effort to have sex. I don't know if this is just me or whether it is connected to having herpes, but I never used to be like this.
So not only has my poor boyfriend got to put up with having a girlfrind with herpes (he doesn't have it) but he has to put up with going without sex for periods of time because of my low sex drive. To be honest I really don't know how he puts up with me. I'm sure that if we split up I'll never find anyone else who's willing to put up with so much.
Can anyone else relate to this?

Re: Sex Drive

I can kind of relate. I think in my case though it mostly had to do with worrying if having sex would trigger another outbreak. Seven times out of ten, I would have an outbreak in the next day or two, especially if sex was really vigorous (that's probably more information than you wanted to know), so I'd avoid it a lot simply because I didn't want do deal another outbreak. My husband was very understanding, but I know he was pretty frustrated too. I've noticed since starting the Valtrex that my attitude has changed though and I don't worry like I used to. Are you taking medication?

Re: Sex Drive

I'm not taking any medication, only vitamin tablets really. I live in England and doctors seem very reluctant to give out the anti-viral drugs for outbreaks, let alone to take every day.
I've recently moved to a different city though, so when I join a doctors here I might ask them about suppressive treatment
