H Balm for Type 2?

I have HSV 2. I read a few posts about using H Balm as a non perscription that can be used for daily supression. The bottle I got in the mail says it's for HSV 1. Does anyone know if this will also work for HSV 2? Is it safe to use down there? Do they make a separate kind for HSV 2?

Re: H Balm for Type 2?

A bit late - but herpes simplex 1 (oral) and herpes simplex 2 (genital) are very closely related viruses. Now, they are not limited to showing up with just oral or just genital outbreaks - depending upon which virus your skin has been exposed to.

There was a big crackdown by the FDA on STD products back in May and a lot of products are no longer available. Others toned down what they are saying about their products. H-Balm looks like it did get approval by the FDA for HSV-1, and the product has been around for over 10 years - and used for genital herpes - with good enough results.

Only thing is that you just use a "little bit" - like a drop, maybe 2 depending upon how large the area is... otherwise it can be strong. There was some guy saying he "poured it on" - not something you want to do... this is pretty good stuff, doesn't work for everyone but does have a 1 year guarantee. I'm pretty happy with it.
