Safe to kiss another HSV-1 person without spreading??

Hello,

I've been doing a lot of research on spreading of HSV-1. I'm super paranoid about it, actually.

So my question is, if I kiss someone who also has HSV-1 orally, is it possible that it will worsen my infection? For example, can he spread the virus to a new place on my lips where it wasn't before? My doctor said if you've got it, you've got it, so you can't get it again, and I suppose that's true, but it doesn't exactly answer the question of whether it can be made worse...

Let me know.

Your doctor is right once you are infected you can't be reinfected again. You can get a outbreak different places (mouth area) not only on your lips. As far as I know it would let cause you to get a worst outbreak.
