Conflicting Lab Results

So here is my issue. I had protected sex with an individual roughly 5 months ago. I had a red mark or two appear on my penis a few days later or at least noticed it then. I felt fine went home then about a week later became ill. Ever since then I have been nervous I have been effected and very stressed out, cant keep it off my mind. I went to the doctor asap he didnt notice anything peculiar and gave me some advice. I had another sick episode and some swollen nodes but no lesions and went to the doctor and got some allergy medicine. Finally I wanted some type of closure and went and got a IGG/IGM type specific test 3.5 months after exposure without any sexual intercourse in between. My results came back negative.

At this point I feel very confused what would of caused my issues, should I rely on the test, what happens when It comes to sexual intercourse again. Very confused and need some help desperately.

Re: Conflicting Lab Results

I know they say it can take up to 4 months sometimes for the antibodies to be detected in the blood. So to be extra safe maybe get tested again and then based off of those results move on

Re: Conflicting Lab Results

I will definitely be waiting until then but how confident should i feel with the 3.5 test results, is there another underlying condition I should be worried about? Just the thought itself I have led to believe takes more of a toll on me then what actually hapened.

Re: Conflicting Lab Results

Your 3 and a half month results should be good to go on I can't see them really changing all that much but I suggested the retest to be on the safe side. Just as an FYI your chance of getting it from that one time is less then 1% (although there is always a risk, it is low).

Maybe the red marks were an allergic reaction to something, I wouldn't worry about it especially if nothing else has gone on since as far as more spots or any sores.
