Anal Fissures

I've had herpes since about January and have had a few outbreaks, however in the last few days I suddenly noticed I had a tear just down from my anus with a couple of bumps either side.

I googled it today and discovered its probably an anal fissure. Everything online says it'll likely heal itself in 1-2 weeks but as I'm assuming mine is linked with the herpes I was wondering what to do about it?

It's very itchy so I've been using a cream I got given when I first got herpes.

I'm not on full time medication to prevent outbreaks but if this is another outbreak around the anus only then I should probably go to my doctor.

Any advice? It hurts a lot when I go to the toilet and is constantly irritating especially when I'm working long hours.

Hi,
If you think this may be a bit of an outbreak then I suggest calling your doctor to see if they can call in a prescription to the pharmacy for you or to go and see the doctor. I would say maybe wait but sometimes its better to try to nip it in the bud early on if it is an outbreak.

If your able to pick up L-Lysine you can try taking that, in the meantime try to wear loose clothing, cotton panties and at night try no panties to try to keep it as dry as possible.

I would also suggest maybe an Epsom salt bath or oatmeal bath to see if that will help a little bit.
