Continuous Testing And No Answers. Help!
So I have posted in this topic before, a couple times. Back in January I was scared I had contracted HSV1 genitally from my partner performing oral sex on me. After months of pain and agony with no diagnosis, symptoms finally abated without any clear indication of why.
So I have been blood tested for HSV several times, as recently as July, all negative. Seeing as how this was 7 months after my initial suspected exposure, I was assured by my doctor that I was completely in the clear. I even saw a different doctor (from the same health system) who specialized in vulvar pain who told me I was probably just suffering from skin irritation. Monthly skin irritation that occurs at the same time every month with no explanation. Still, I bought into it.
Well about a month ago I got a lesion on my labia. I freaked out and immediately went to the doctor to have it looked at and tested. The lesion had popped the night before with blood and pus in it. I had the lesion tested (a SRC from what the paper says) for HSV and it came back negative. The doctor told me it was probably just a boil and to let it heal naturally and put a hot compress on it. After a while the lesion did indeed heal. So this month, almost down to the day, in the exact same spot the lesion was back accompanied by the usual burning and itching in my vaginal area. Once again it popped and healed in about a day.
I am at a complete loss for what to think. These are all signs and symptoms of herpes but not a single test is coming back positive, and the doctors refuse to diagnose me with anything, just skin irritation. I've never had skin irritation like this in that area before this year, much less on a monthly predictable basis. I have no idea what to do and I feel as if people are waving my concerns off as paranoia.
