| Question About Test Results
Is it possible to determine what type of herpes someone has from a blood test if the test is positive for herpes but negative for antibodies?
The reason I ask is because I recently had a blood test come back with those results, and my husband has now tested positive for HSV1. When the doctor called to tell me the test results, she did not tell me what type it was, and I'm just wondering if that was just neglectful on her part, or if it's not possible to know the type without the antibodies.
