 Cold Sores to Genital Herpes
Hello all,
I have had HSV-1 since I was younger, my mother gets cold sores a few times a year and has since I was born. When I was in high school, my freshman year to be exact, I got my first outbreak and then another in my junior and senior year of high school I believe. I had not gone through an outbreak in a little over a year and a half then finally I got another one this past Monday. As soon as I noticed the red itchy sensation I let my boyfriend know and we had not kissed, shared utensils, or used anything that has come into contact with my mouth. It officially scabbed over three days ago and when that happened my boyfriend and I exchanged a kiss. It seems to be alright now, just looks like a scar on my lip though it is sensitive when I touch it. I was wondering how long I have to wait until I can go down on him and vice versa because I do not want to transmit this to either one of our genital areas. Should we stay away from there for a while or is it okay to go at it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
