Hi,

My question is if you can get genital herpes when recieving oral sex from a girl with a cold sore but is wearing a cold sore patch?

Well,

So far i seem to be in luck. Over 2 weeks has passed and i haven't had an outbreak. So i guess only time will tell, but so far im very happy that it seems i have been spared

Hello,
I have never heard of a cold sore patch I will have to look into that for my own knowledge but if you were receiving oral without a condom then the chances are still going to be there because it isn't only where the outbreak is that risks transmitting the virus. I suggest you get tested in 4 months via IgG herpes type specific blood test to make sure you are clear.

Thanks for your reply, i know this was totally irresponsible of me, its probably the most stupid thing i have ever done, well it is. But right now im just happy, that i haven't got an outbreak yet, i was counting down the days expecting an outbreak. So right now im just happy that i live with the thought that i might have been lucky. But yes i will get a test to be sure in some months.

BTW, do you know how long after exposure, the flu-like symptoms will show?
