Are doctors mis-informed?
I just recently contracted HSV2 a few weeks ago. I had a doc appointment today and we discussed the risk of transmission. He literally told me that it was ok to have sex as long as I'm not having an outbreak. My reaction was "Sweet!", but deep down, I know that this is not true. His comment contradicts a lot of the research I have done. Is there any truth behind what he said? Or is he behind the times? He looks to be in his 60's. Maybe he needs to catch up on some recent Herpes studies? I didn't say anything because I didn't want to offend him.
