I'm a female with genital HSV-1 (tested, confirmed) and my guy friend has genital HSV-2 (also tested). If I had sex with him, what are the chances that I could catch his type and get more outbreaks? I currently get a few "paper cuts" down there around the time of my period anyway. I've been infected for several years. I'm a little more concerned about getting it orally from him because I've never even had a cold sore before. Is anyone else infected with both strains genitally?

I know this will sound weird but can you tell me about your Paper Cuts? This is what feel every month but no blisters.

The papercuts, as I call them, are just like tiny 2mm sores that aren't blisters and don't crust over or anything. They sting when you touch them or put water or soap on them. Kinda feel/look like razor cuts but they aren't. Heals over in a few days usually. Lovely, isn't it.

How were you diagnosed? Have you had blood test? Are they positive? Did your first ob happen within a month? Was it painful?

I ask because I am trying to compare. I only had one pap. Meaning my Dr. has only visually seen me 1 time. 2wks after exposure. So He ask about blisters and expect me to have those instead I have something related to this.

Water or soap nor urine bothers it but alcohol does.
