| Re: question for anyone who has herpes.
It depends on the what type of virus ( 1 or 2), and it also varies from each person. Some have symptoms; some don't. The common ground is that the first OB (outbreak) is always the worst.
I was instructed to wait 6 weeks for testing as they call it a "window" for a false negative. It's been 3 weeks since my incident, so far no severe itching and clustered blisters.
The wait is a pain, but I'd rather wait than get a false negative.
Try to calm yourself down. Find a distraction, panicking will cause distress on your body. You may experience diarrhea, headaches and warmth of the skin (feels like about to have a flu) which are some symptoms of herpes.
Until you are tested, i suggest that you find a distraction or talk to some friends who can calm you down.
