| Newly HSV2 diagnosis. I have ?s
A little background. Married 35 years. Husband had an affair in 1995-96. We stayed together. Had sex normally for a few years. I never questioned what went on nor thought about STDs. We stopped having sex completely in 2001. Maybe because of the past or no interest his bad health. Who knows.
About a year ago I had a one time encounter with a man and had sex for a few minutes with a condom and ultimately gave him oral sex. Was this enough to contract HSV2? Nothing else ever went on again.
For the last 5 months I have had a relationship with a man that I love dearly. We have never had protected sex. Always unprotected. Two weeks ago I had a massive outbreak and went to the doctor. Results came back yesterday. IGM NEGATIVE. IGG POSITIVE. I do not have the numbers. Did I get this from my present partner of five months? The IGG says its an older infection. So who gave it to me?
I'm beside myself and just need some answers. I'm working on a divorce. Is this the straw that does it? Can a virus remain dormant THAT long?
I appreciate any ideas or suggestions.
