Yeah, all cold sores are herpes. Can be spread to the genitals. Can actually spread it to someones genitals if you go down on them.
There is some evidence out there that shows that people with HSV-1 don't get it in the genitals if they have it in another area, like the lips, but only if they have it for several months.
Side note: I have been with 3 women who have had sores while going down on me, and I have been tested and am not a carrier. Though it is possible, but rare to get HSV-2 on the lips.
Another side note: I really wouldn't test this theory out, since I have started researching Herpes cold sores, I am much more aware and cautious these days.
