| new boyfriend is unsure
I've been seeing this guy for just over a month now. told him a few weeks ago about hsv and he was understanding and admittedly ignorant. he went to the doctor and got advice, and also found out his best friend has hsv1. his friend said that even without an outbreak, oral sex is not possible, and that having sex is limited because of skin to skin contact. I explained to him that there are many long term couples out there who, when only having sex without an outbreak, do not both contract it. he's still unsure and worried about his health, and it's making me super upset. I understand of course, but I want him to hear some facts from people who have been living with it for a long time (his friend only contracted it this past summer and I got it in april)
in plain english, is it possible to have sex with herpes? please tell me how and why. thanks very much.
