I need support 1st Herpes outbreak

I started Valtrex Tuesday. I had symptoms a week before I saw any sores. I put a few posts up hoping to get some feedback..I check everyday and still no posts :( my boyfriend is awaiting blood test results. I want to tell my close friends and confide in them but I don't want it to back fire on me. I feel some improvement but the sores are still there, I am eating Advil constantly, and my legs hurt so bad. How long is this going to last?! I'm going to keep positive and keep reaching out.. Hope to hear from someone!!

I know the first OB is the worst, it gets less bothersome with time. VALTREX is a good medication. I know for me it has gotten easier with time. It has been 11 years since my diagnosis and I have no signs at all. Hang in there and I wish you the best :) IF you want to ask anything else let me know! :)

I looked it up, and apparently culture testing is only accurate 50%-70% of the time. Did they do a blood test on you? They should have, and that will probably give more accurate results. If they didn't go back and have them do one.

As for how you are feeling - the first outbreak is a million times worse than any future outbreaks. Mine lasted about a week, thanks to getting on Valtrex quickly, but it was one of the most pain filled weeks of my life. The only advice I can give you is to take the best care of yourself you can and to remember that it will soon pass. Well actually, looks like you posted this a while ago so I bet that by now you are feeling a lot better!
