Lipitor and gas, constipation, bloating, abdominal pain - High Cholesterol Message Board

I've been on Lipitor for 5 weeks and for a few days now have had bad gas, abdominal pain, constipation and bloating. Is this supposed to be temporary? I don't know how much longer I can stand this.

Those symptoms are not expected with Lipitor. Occurrence of constipation, flatulence, dyspepsia are the same or less than with a placebo.

Have you changed your diet? There are always stomach viruses going around as well.

Usually if a medication upsets your digestive tract, the problems occur very early on in dosing. If for 4 weeks no problem, then it's really not the Lipitor.

Boy can I relate to that I have the same problem with the zocor< The bloating the gas the miseable feeling i get its God awful and I have had it for about november seems like never ending now i get all this after eating and Im fine in am until I eat then its all starting again.

well i quit taking the zocor 4 nights ago and i can say the gas the bloating and the fullnest have gone away im not fgoing to take anymore so when i see the dr in may i will tell her
