Male-had the Apolipo A! and b tests done on my blood.
Results: Apolipo A1 is 146 and B is 120 with a ratio of .82
Any comments? Jerry

I really don't know the clinical reference values for what would be in range or desirable regarding the apolipoprotein levels. I did write someone a while back about what they are and how they comprise the various types of lipoproteins:

...and if you really want to find out a bunch about it, try using a popular search engine with the following search:

reference materials for the standardisation of apolipoproteins

the first hit should be a JIFCC with references to these as predictive markers.

I asked my cardiologist about them and he said: "We all know they are important measurements is but the trouble is we don;t know how to interpret them?"

I think that speaks volumes!

Darn Zip! The medical community will come up with some magic number that we all have to fall under and when we dont, they will create a medication that will earn them, again, a billion + dollars!

I don't know why a doctor would order these tests. Mine ordered the Apo B a while ago. The lab messed it up and did a direct measuremant of LDL instead, which I didn't want and certainly had no need for. The lab ended up not charging for the test.
