donsabi,
I can't quite understand your time frame:

Fifteen years ago I had a silent heart attack. During a routine physical it was discovered on the EKG. I had a cardiac catherization shortly afterwards and a blockage was found. I had good colaterals and so they decided to treat me medically. This was the first time I had a lipid profile done. The doctors were sure I had high cholesterol, but when the results came back my total cholesterol was 110. ... As soon as I returned home and met with my primary care MD he prescibed a beta blocker and Lipitor.

If this all happened 15 years ago, 1989, it would have been impossible for your doctor to prescribe lipitor which never even entered the market til 1997 (FDA approval Dec. '96.)
And WHY would anyone prescribe a powerful statin for someone with a near record low total cholesterol...treating a 110 TC is malpractice (but treating an LDL of 110 for a heart patient is accepted practice.)
Did you mean to say that all this treatment occurred much more recently and the doctors CONJECTURED that the "silent heart attack" somehow looked like it might have been 15 years old?
Amplify and I'll do my best to dig in. Give us your LDL's and HDL's as well....and BP with and without that beta blocker. Any pain on hard excercise?
