Can the Effort to Lower Cholesterol Raise BP? - High Cholesterol Message Board

My BP has been pretty good lately...usually 117/63... well I just took it last night and it was 130/66 and I'm wondering if my diet change or the supplements I take have somehow affected it.

I'm going the natural route to lower my cholesterol and also walk/run at least 4 miles each day. I also have recently added weight lifting. My diet is almost vegetarian except I do eat salmon 3 times a week.

I use Cholest-off, Benecol, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and a Calcium supplement. Almost no salt too.

Maybe its just the stress from trying to stick to the blasted diet!

I wouldn't worry about it. Blood pressure readings often fluctuate somewhat anyway. In fact, I wish I had your readings. But since I live in New Jersey, that can be tough for me to achieve by natural means.

Arizona I hear you... I live right outside of D.C... I call the whole area the land of maniacs. New Jersey is right up there with us too!

Yes, there's certainly enough noise, traffic, and congestion to keep anyone on edge around here. Add to that some very peculiar looking people I cross paths with on almost a daily basis. Why, just today I saw some guy getting into a car just a couple of blocks from where I live who looked a lot like Osama bin Laden. As a matter of fact, I believe that a few of those terrorists who hijacked those planes on September 11th were living right here in New Jersey. If I recall correctly, they weren't too far from where Zip2play lives. But, in any case, it seems that no matter what happens that's bad, there always seems to be a New Jersey connection.
