I posted back in November with my lipid results and got alot of good responses. I took alot of the suggestions and tried them. Here is my problem, I am still not able to get my HDL up. My numbers in November were: TC=178 Trig's=265 Hdl=38 LDL=86 My numbers as of Jan 13 are: TC=176 Trig's=167 HDL=37 LDL=106. I quit smoking in March of 04 and started to exercise as much as I can. I am limited to what I can do due to a back issue. Any advice to raise my HDL would be greatly appreciated.
If you're not doing it now, have 2 glasses (10 ounce total) of wine every night. After 30 days get your HDL checked and see if that helped.
I think that might be the single best thing you can do.
I have heard that red wine will increase HDL. I have not had any alcohol in about 16 years. Can anyone recommend a good wine (taste wise) that will do better than the others, or do they all work pretty much the same. Thank you for the replies>
