| Re: Vytorin and Leg Pain
Salut
Many people have a myopathic (muscle pain) adverse reaction to statins, and deep muscle pain, tendon and joint pain are included in that. Vytorin has simvastatin (Zocor) in it.
Now that you have had this reaction to all the statins, I think you know more about its effects on you than your physician does.
Here is information about statin side effects.
Dr. Beatrice Golomb

Dr. Golomb is principal Investigator of the UCSD NIH funded Statin Study
which looks at side effects of all the statin drugs. They welcome, and request, contact with those who have experienced side effects, or think they have. They will provide you with information which you can take to your doctor.
Jay Cohen M.D. discusses Crestor, and all the statins:

Paul S. Phillips M.D. Ph.D

Head, Interventional Cardiology

Dr. Phillips is studying statin side effects, and why some people still have them years after stopping statins.
Dr. Duane Graveline

Former United States Astronaut and USAF flight surgeon has written a book about his memory loss and transient global amnesia from Lipitor. There are excerpts about this terriying little known side effect from Lipitor and other statins.
