Uff-Da...Your dr. visit...

Hi Uff, how did U make out witht the dr. visit? Didn't U say U had one last week and were going to ask about that knee pain to see if it was the Niacin?

Things have been so wacky around here, I swear I am losing track of time. Hopefully all went well and the knee is much better. Been trying to do spring cleaning and yard work in between our rainy days, geez, my spring cleaning is going to turn into summer cleaning!!!

Our weather held out really nice for the day, so we got to have a decent cookout, geez, bout time. Last nite we had rain and some hail, such nutty weather. I love cooking out on the grill, as even I can't mess anything up on that.......

I'm still doing the 100 mgs. of non flush Niacin, and seems I just might be getting use to it, as the itchys are getting less. Still can't believe a lousy 100 mgs. gives me problems, Holy Moly, what a system I have.

Hope U had a nice Memorial Day, definitely time for me to catch up the nightly chores and then hit the hay. Catch ya soon....

Re: Uff-Da...Your dr. visit...

Good morning, JJ, thanks for asking. Actually, I ended up cancelling my appointment with the doctor. After six weeks of pain in my thigh, I could finally see that things were starting to get better. I reached the conclusion that the doctor wasn't going to be able to tell me anything other than "stop doing so much gardening" anyway. I had gone without niacin for three weeks, but started it again, as I'm relatively sure it was unrelated. Slight pain started in the second thigh, too, after I'd been off the niacin more than two weeks. That's when I finally reached the conclusion that it was almost certainly unrelated.

The pain is still there, but not as bad. Unfortunately, I keep aggravating it with the yard work. But this is the time of year it has to be done. I have a huge yard, and in this area with all the rainfall (we are only 100 miles from North America's only rain forest), things really get out of hand when one lets it go. It is raining lightly now and the forecast is for rain for the next five days, so I'm really glad I hit it hard yesterday - seven hours of yard work.

Re: Uff-Da...Your dr. visit...

Yup, sounds like it is all that gardening Uff. I hear ya about all the rain etc., it seems yaget one or 2 nice days and that is it. Usually at this time of year my spring cleaning is done, but I just keep getting interrupted with weather. Oh well, it will get done sooner or later, probably later....

U take good care, and try to relax some and not aggravate all those muscles. Gee, ain't getting old a HOOT?? So far another nice day here, so I got to go like the wind and get some things done, so enjoy your day, and CYL..

Re: Uff-Da...Your dr. visit...

Since it was raining this morning and I had all the plants planted that I previously bought, I headed out to the nursery again this morning and bought another couple dozen perennials. Looks like I might get a chance to get started planting them in between showers this afternoon. So far we haven't had any of the drenching showers we often get, so the ground isn't too wet to work out there yet.

One thing about all this yard work. It does give me plenty of exercise, which should be good for both my cholesterol and my blood pressure. I'm one who absolutely hates exercise unless it is to accomplish something, so I'll often go weeks on end of doing little but sit on my end in the winter. It will be interesting to see how my next lipid test will come out. I'm due to schedule my annual physical some time in June, but may postpone it until July since I had that extra lipid test in March after my egg experiment.

Re: Uff-Da...Your dr. visit...

I had to pull all my bedding in from the line as it was getting dark. Good thing I did, man did it pour!!

I like to do gardening myself, but our soil around here is very rocky, so I lose alot of stuff. I must have tried 4 places to put an Azalea, and each time I hit rock, but finally managed to find a decent spot. Once I get something into the ground, I leave it there, as God only knows where I will find another spot.

We were going to try and do a garden a few years ago, oh brother, what a mess that was. Glad we didn't get too far or I would have needed to get the whole backyard redone. I swear if some of these boulders under my grass give way, my house is going to wind up in China.....

As far as the exercising, I loved our old gym, it was reasonable and not all that far from home, plus U didn't have someone on your back all while U were there. Some of these new places drive ya nuts trying to make U do what they feel U should do, nuts on that. Love going up to the track near us, but almost every nite it rains, so noone has been going lately. A new place opened near me, but it is expensive, and sorry, I can't afford it. Oh well, just have to take my chances and exercise when I can. Still swear all this worrying is going to make us all nuts. CYL.....
