Should I be worried?

Cholesterol 225
HDL 52
LDL 137
Trig. 179

Should I be worried? I had better numbers just three months ago.

My cholesterol seems to go up and down 219, 237, 203 and now 225 all within the last two years. I know they can be better...what can or take as a suppliment to get my numbers lower?

My trig's are worrisome since they have steadily climbed 99, 154, 163 and now 179. How I can I make these number go back down and what is causing this.

Thanks for any input!

Your triglycerides are the main problem. For most people, cutting back on carbohydrates often results in lower triglyceride levels. Mostly, you need to curb your intake of refined carbohydrates, such as breads, pasta, and other white flour products. Also, try to avoid junk foods such as candy, cake, donuts, soda, and anything else that has a high sugar content. Eat more protein rich foods, such as beef, fish, and chicken. Supplementing with fish oil can also lower triglycerides.

Latley I have had a desire for hot white bread, by lately I mean the last two weeks. But I doubt that this made my trig. rise so much in three months. I will definatly stop this "desire" in it's tracks! My doctor did run this test without me fasting, but he said it was okay because they have a new test that is MORE SENSITIVE and you don't need to fast for it. I'm hoping it was a mistake. How can my numbers climb so much in 3 months?

I must admit, I like my nightly cookie, small piece of cake, ice cream. I am not much of a potato or rice eater. Pasta..ahhhh pasta. I could eat this every day. But I do try to balance my intake and not eat it every day usually every 3 days or so. It's just easy to make and so versitile.

The weird thing is that I have been eating less junk, cookies etc over the years and my trig. keep climbing. I'm into fish and sauted greens like broccoli rabe so I wonder if it has anything to do with me being perimenopausal? I think I read somewhere that it could.
