My health food store hands out a good magazine and it had some good tips for heart health, thought I'd share them.
Niacin: raises HDL while lowering LDL
Red yeast rice: lowers LDL and Triglycerides

Guggul: Century old medicine reduces LDL and prevents oxidation and clots
Green tea Extract: reduces LDL and apoB the primary protein in LDL

They had some interesting fact also, experts say that if you reduce your weight by 2.2 lbs. you can raise your HDL by .35 mg/dl.
We want to raise our HDL because it carries away the LDL and also acts as an antioxidant and like aspirin it helps prevent blood clots.

One other thing I found interesting, Glucosamine used for osteoarthritis is being researched as a supplement for people with M S because it improves their mobility.
