As a side note, the VLDL can be calculated in a couple of ways. One method is to divide the triglycerides by 5, and another is by subtracting LDL and HDL cholesterol from total cholesterol The 2nd calculation may not be entirely accurate if there are other cholesterol-containing lipoprotiens present. It will however give you a rough idea of what yours is. Dividing the triglycerides by 5 only works if the triglycerides are 400 or less.
