Cholesterol too low.......Please Help! - High Cholesterol Message Board

Hopefully I can post this question in this forum, not sure where else to go. I recently had my CBC done and my Cholesterol came back quite low
Totol Cholesterol - 3.15 mmol/L (122 mg/dl)
Triglycerides - 0.79 mmol/L (31 mg/dl)
LDL - 1.70 mmol/L (66 mg/dl)
HDL - 1.09 mmol/L (42 mg/dl)

Is there a cause to be concerned over extremely low readings? Hematology report came back within normal ranges - except MCH was considered a little high
WBC - 8.7
RBC - 4.53
Is it normal for some people to have such low readings? I don't eat much meat and eat low fat whenver I can. Any answers would be much appreciated, I've been quite worried about this although my doctor says "enjoy my life".

Those numbers shouldn't be a problem IF!! you didn't get them that low through cholesterol lowering medications. Numbers that low are a problem if they are artificially achieved. There are some conditions that can cause low cholesterol...Niemann-Pick...this causes readings to be low, but unesterfied cholesterol will build up in the cells, causing damage. It is a rare conditions, and there are many other symptoms that go along with it. It is funny that cholesterol lowering medications are of no benefit to this condition. You are probably just a person who at the present has a body that doesn't require anymore cholesterol. Body's do require fat to function properly. Saturated fat is not the culprit that most people believe it to be.
