I need some advice.. - High Cholesterol Message Board

I had to go to the doc yesterday, I was feeling rather crappy. Well, she had done blood tests on me and today I got my results. My Cholesterol is 253 and my Triglycerides are 258... ok,, what does this mean? I have to wait 2 more weeks in order for her to explain what is going on with my body. I just had a baby 5 months ago. I know all that pregnancy stuff is out, but since then, I have been drinking loads of soda, eating pizza, and just overwhelmingly hungry. Before I was pregnant, I had a liver problem called Fatty Liver. She said that all other tests were fine. Not diabetic or having thyroid problems. Please someone help me with some advice. I am scared that I am going to have a heart attack or stroke. I have started today, slim fast. One in the morning, then I eat a snack, which consisted of v8 juice, and had a bannana, also had baked lays. Not many. Then I had another shake. Tonight I plan to cook baked chicken, and I am getting ready for my nightly walk, that I just started a week ago. Please help someone. I am worried about my levels. And any advice on how to lower them?

You need 2 other numbers. Call your doctor and ask him what your HDL and LDL were.
Then we can make a better estimate of what is going on.

The high triglycerides are largely caused by a high sugar, high fat, or high calorie diet...or any combination. You divide them by 5 to make up your cholestoerol so your triglycerides ar 52 points of your total.
