cholesterol deposits?? - High Cholesterol Message Board

The way I found out that my cholesterol was high the first time was from a white patch the started on my right eye lid. I asked the eye doctor when I went in and he said see the doctor.

They did test and my numbers were high, they wanted to put me on medication but I refused. I decided to try diet and exercise. I got my numbers down, and I guess I slipped off the wagon. One day I noticed I had started a spot on my left eye lid. The doctors tell me they are deposits of cholesterol.

Anyone else ever have or hear of this???

That's a new one for me! I did a quick search on google and found that it's really not that uncommon.

Nope, that is very common for drs. to notice. I think it was my GYN that told me about it a few years ago, and then I asked hubby's cardio guy, and he confirmed it.

Those are really fatty deposits, not just cholesterol deposits. Seems like cholesterol gets blamed for everything. Kind of like our love handles...next they will be calling them cholesterol storage units.....
