"self testing" any experience with mail in tests? - High Cholesterol Message Board

I've looked around and can't find much information regarding the quality, or "accuracy?" of at-home, mail-in-the-blood-sample cholesterol tests.

One blood-testing Internet-seller, is even claiming to provide a component list of values.

It had been my understanding that it takes more than a "pin stick" blood sample for determine anything but total cholesterol levels.

Any advice surrounding the best method to get cholesterol checked cheaply and accurately. (as in I'm paying for it -uninsured)

I will watch this as I have wondered the same thing.. You have to mail in to get results? I looked at one at the drug store that showed a gauge that you checked yours against to determine the re****s and was thinking about getting one of those just to try it and see.
