I bought a home cholesterol test to check on my progress. I followed the instructions exactly, drink a glass of water prior to test, let arm hang at side for 30 seconds prior to stick, then let it hang for 10 seconds after the stick. Then you are supposed to fill the test well with blood by milking your finger. Well, the first time I barely got a drop of blood! There were two tests included in the box along with three lancets, so I tried it again on a different finger, same result. I then call the 800 number and the representative had no advice besides telling me I must have thick blood and did I drink some water. But she did say they would send me a replacement test. Today I deciced to try the second test. Guess what, very little blood appeared. The blood looked real dark and thick. Does anybody have advice on how to obtain blood. When my replacement test comes in the mail, I don't want it to go to waste.

Reason: correction
Try swinging your arm around in a large circle a couple time immediately before jabbing your finger.
Perhaps an aspirin or two the night before will help.
The test we have recommends that you run very warm water over your testing hand, dry and shake the hand vigorously before sticking. It also states that you wipe off the first blood that appears and use the next drop for testing.
