I suppose because your TC numbers are in the normal range... he has looked past your extremely low HDL and extremely high TG's.
Niacin is the only proven medication that can significantly raise HDL and lower TG's...
My guess is that your Doctor is unaware of the benifits of niacin.
Tell him to review Niapsan... maybe he will believe in an FDA approved therapy. I've been taking 3000 mg for over a year now... and highly recommend folks trying this.
