Re: What does this mean?

I apologize. I thought it was the other way around(copying info without a link, passing it on as your own knowledge was cause for banning) Won't happen again. I just felt bad for him/her that nobody responded.

Re: What does this mean?

Hi. These are Canadian measurements. I appreciate the help, but didn't understand the info on the link you attached.

I wondered because my total cholesterol is .04 points above the high end of normal, and wondered if i should be concerned - or what i can do to lower it. I have been exercising five times a week for 1.5 months, and it's gone up - hasn't decreased.

I am a 43 year old female.

Any help is appreciated.

You don't have anything to worry about. Your total cholesterol is higher than the top end of the so called "normal" range because your HDL is very high (should be higher than 1.0 and yours is 1.95). The higher HDL is, the better. So the guidelines don't make sense when when HDL is high....

Anyway, a better indication of heart attack risk is the TC:HDL ratio. The guideline is that it should be less than 4.5. As yours is only 2.7, your heart attack risk is very low. So just keep on doing whatever youare doing.
