Hi Hunter 44 and Arkie, The reason I had originally written was my fear of taking the meds at night. That has been fixed. A friend of mine was over and he stayed with me a few hours after I took the meds everything went all right so far. I just have to see how I adjust to it. Your writing to me about my numbers and maybe I should adjust my diet instead of taking meds for life - well I must say I do trust my doctor he has always had my best interests at heart. There have been times I have fought about taking medications but this time he feels I should try this. I am going to be 61. I am extremely overweight at least by 70/80 lbs. I had a father who dies of a heart attack at the age of 48. Mother and grandmother had angina. Not sure if my doc knows these facts but I think I will go along with this and see how it goes. I personally am trying the Atkins diet as of this Monday but I am so heavy right now (due to having my thyroid ablated) that exercise is out of the question until I lose some weight so that my back won't kill me walking. I thank you for your replies I will certainly take them into cosideration. I do feel that my doctor would not put me on medication (especially when he knows how much I hate medication) without a good reason. Again, thank you so much for your replies.
