upset stomach on bp meds and lipitor - High Cholesterol Message Board

About three weeks ago I was placed on two blood pressure medications (Lisinopril, 40 mg, and Attenolol, 25 mg) for an out of the blue bout of very high blood pressure and 20 mg of Lipitor for high cholesterol. About a week into taking these three drugs I began to have mild stomach pain, mild nausea once in a while and intermittent diarrhea. Anyone had such experiences on these or similar medications?? I had some other problems but the gut felt aok until I started this medicine. There is a lot of anxiety going on right now as well but this feels almost like the stomach flu... Any thoughts would be appreciated... thanks... diitto..

I bet it is the Lipitor that is upsetting you stomach. I have taken the same BP med you are for years and only when I added Lipitor last March did I start having trouble. I took it only 2 months and things were OK. Then I started getting sick in MANY different ways and stopped taking it in May. It took another month and half to get back to normal. Those were the worse months of my life. I have never been that sick!!
