im confused! - High Cholesterol Message Board

Hello, my name is michelle, im 29 yrs old, was dx'd with high cholesterol aprox 4 months ago. i had a cbc and that was the only test i failed! i came in at 289...i had my levels but now i cant find them, i'll post with them later.....at that time dr said generally we would want to put you on meds but we will set you up with a dietician and for me to begin to lose some weight. im 4'10 and was 140 at that time. so i see the dietician she puts me on a 25 grams of fat 1200 calorie a day diet. and i am happy to say that i now weight 125, which is good right? so today is my dietician appt and im excited so i run to target and buy a cholesterol test, test myself at home thinking i was going to be able to give her good news.....but im higher! from what i got out of the reading it was like 318! now im more scared then ever! to go get retested by the dr. and im just so frustrated! can someone please help me understand why this is?
Another thing i have fibromyalgia does anyone know if this makes it worse? all replies are greatly appreciated.

Hi Michele, not sure if you are aware of this, but many times Fibro is undiagnosed Thyroid disease, I also was told I had Fibro, but I don't, it was my thyroid causing all the aches and pains.

Anyways, thyroid disease also leads to high cholesterol.
