If anyone wants to read a good article on Lipitor side effects Smartmoney Magazine has one in the November issue. some people who have posted on this board are in the article. This is a good read plus good to take to your Dr. when they tell you that Lipitor isn't causing all your problems.

I have read that so many people go on Lipitor, told by their doctors to take it, and they have all kinds of problems. Because of that, when my doctor suggested Lipitor, I suggested Zocor in it's place. I'm glad I did, for I haven't had the aches and pains others have had to endure.

I have just read "The Lipitor Dilemma", a seven page article in Smart Money magazine. It seemed to confirm my worst suspicions about statins. I found the article both frightening and disturbing, and I hope that similar articles will follow in more newspapers and magazines nationwide so that the public will acquire a better understanding of the risks associated with these drugs. These drugs may be fine as a short term solution for bringing down dangerously high levels of cholesterol. But the line must be drawn somewhere. They are far too dangerous to be taken indefinitely, or for years and years on end. But unfortunately, they are being prescribed in a negligent manner, with a complete indifference to the well-being of the patient. The name of the game is money, money, and more money. This is a perfect example of legalized drug abuse.

I felt lik the flu, and muscle stiffness a real prob. with Lipatour, switched to Zocor, still have same probs. anyone else experiencing this?

Hmmm, it appears these same drugs have saved a lot of lives. Of course they are developed and sold for the money. That's how our system works (and works well I might add). How many drugs have been discovered by the old Soviet Union or China? Even the drug manufactors of Canada,France and Switzerland etc. depend on profiting from the USA. The real "evil" ones here are the trial lawyers. When I was put on a statin for the first time I did a "google" search and I had to wade through all these attorney sites. How much do they add to the cost of drugs?
