| Re: Has anyone heard or used this product?
That web site's positive reviews of some rather dodgy looking products (colon cleanse, what's the point if you are not getting a colonoscopy, in which case they'll prescribe something for that?) do not do much for its credibility.
If you do not want to take drugs (prescription or over the counter), then you may want to do the usual things like:
* Avoid trans-fats from hydrogenated oils. (to lower LDL and raise HDL)
* Avoid saturated fat from red meat, dairy products, and coconut and palm oil. (to lower LDL)
* Replace the above with unsaturated fats from vegetable sources (non-hydrogenated, not coconut or palm oil) and fish. (to lower LDL)
* Lose excess body fat. (to lower LDL and VLDL)
* Increase exercise. (to raise HDL)
* Avoid sugar and alcohol. (to lower VLDL)
On the other hand, if you are genetically prone to high cholesterol, the above measures, although they can help, may not be sufficient to avoid trouble with high LDL, high VLDL, or low HDL.
