I went for my check up thursday aftertoon. No fasting. I had breakfast and i ate lunch around 3.5 hours before they drew blood.
Male, 29, 250 pounds, 5-11
My report read LDL 226, HDL 32, Tri 290.
Now here is what gets me, i told my doctor that about 3.5 hours prior to my apt i had a decent sized lunch, he said ok and i thought he took that into account
Chicken salad from wendys and a chocolate frosty.

Now i am wondering had i not eaten and fasted, would those numbers be lower? Did my dr mess up by taking my blood without a fast?
Fats affect Triglycerides.
Only for LDL-C direct measurements fasting is not required.
As most Lipid panel tests use computed figures for LDL using the Friedewald equation method instead of being measured directly, LDL figures, and ratios are certainly affected so fasting is definitely required.
You should have a fasting test done but that meal wouldn't have raised your levels that much. You probably do have high cholesterol but it would be good to have reliable values.
