Labs to share. Opinions would be appreciated
I had hypothyroidism at the time of test. Not taking statin and want to get my thyroid under control first.

Cholesterol, Total 318H 125-200mg/dL
HDL 57 or-46mg/dL
triglycerides 186H 150mg/dL
LDL-cholesterol 224H 130mg/dL (calc)

Chol/HDLC ratio 5.6H or = 5 .0 (calc)
None HDL Cholestrol 261H mg/dl (calc)

I agree with you to get your Thyroid under control first. Yes your numbers are fairly high but, I am definately NOT a statin lover and that would be my VERY last resort. Just my honest opinion. I took them in 2000 for about 8 months and felt like I was dying, worst thing I ever agreed to taking. Even my Cardio. Dr. took them for a few years and now is sorry he did and will not prescribe them unless absolutely necessary. Yes, some folks do well on them but the majority have too many side effects to warrant using them.

Only advice I can give is to watch your diet, try to exercise and if over weight try and lose some weight. Being hypo will help to raise your cholesterol. Here's hoping your doing better and get the Thyroid under control then maybe the cholesterol will come down.
