drug regime,not helping - High & Low Blood Pressure Message Board

I am happy to see this forum, seems to answer alot!
I have HIGH BP plus a few blocked arteries!Drs have me on these drugs since the blockages were discovered. I have fought the BP half my life, no one seems to be able to come up with the right drug .I discovered I can only take small doses of drugs, and different drugs together cause major reactions. Ace inhibitors give me troubles but Dr perscribed lisinipril after hospital.Clonidine is the only one that takes the ringing and roaring in head away (I know this is not an ace inhibitor)
The following drugs I am taking at 10pm

lavix 75mg for blockage,
Clonidine 0.1;atenolol(beta blocker)12 1/2 mg ( used to take Lisin 2.5 but started different time)
6am:isorbiside 60;hctz 25;Clonidine 0.1
2pm:Clonidine0.1; and the lisinipril 2.5
Would one know if these combinations at these times would cause my BP to be higher. I am blaming the ace inhibitor as captopril did a number one me , could barely walk, off balance ect and raised my bp instead of lowering.
I might add Drs have not been much help to me thru the years . Thank you, akjoha

I am 72, my bP was kept under control by a good Dr (died)until about 1993.very diffucult in this day an age to find good Drs as have to change them alot with hmos.
I seem to have a system that just prohibits combinations and large doses of meds and believe me I have given them time to work,the BP guide lines for today when mine does go down that low I cannot even navigate, get ill!New drugs too pricey, so it is a problem!akjoha

I'd simplify if I were you.

Personally I think the Plavix (to prevent clotting) on a daily basis forever is a BIG mistake....the risk of fatal bleeding is 1% in a couple months. Aspirin will work as well (CURE study!) and more safely AND doesn't cost $100-$200 a month.
Why not simplify the drugs especially if you've noticed the more mixing, the more problems.. Atenolol 12.5 is just too small a dose.

I'd recommend something like atenolol 50 mg plus some hydrochlorothiazide if you tend to retain water + one 325 mg aspirin/day (or even half if you're good at pill-splitting.) If you are a man however the atenolol will cause erection problem. Women do better with beta blockers.
All cheap and simple (total around $ 10/month). The heavier beta blockade will help your heart a lot.

Have they ever recommended doing something about the coronary blockages...like angioplasty?
