I have been on Diovan for about 5 weeks, I suffered through the lightheadedness. Now I seem to have developed severe headaches it feels like my head is going to explode also hot cold sensation esp at night i wake up feeling terrible Has anyone else had these side effects

hello there........I too have had some headaches while on the diovan......although I think I have resolved my problem and it wasn't related to the drug........my allergies were the culprit. ZuZu will let you know though that headaches are a known side effect of diovan.....although rare I think. After I cleaned my air filters and 'aired' my home my headaches went away. We get higher allergy symptoms during the winter when our homes are sealed up. Important to keep all air filters changed etc.

It is interesting you mention hot and cold problems. I am experiencing getting very hot and sweating in my sleep. I spend my nights throwing off the covers then getting cold and pulling them back up. It may just be my age - 46 and perimenopause or just heat during the winter making me get hot in my sleep. I have noticed it a lot though since I started on the diovan. Maybe ZuZu can help us with an answer. I really didn't think about the BP med causing or contributing to it. Are your symptoms similiar to mine??

I usually go to sleep and wake up 3 or 4 hours later with a bad headache. then in the morning i still have the headache , ear ringing, and pressure in my head. I can take asa or tylenol and it helps only a bit. Also wake up sweating but its not menopause as i am through with that.

Yes I usually wake up about 3 to 4 hours after going to sleep with a headache and sweating. I am through menopause (age 54) so i know its not that Then first thing in the morning when I get up my head feels likie its going to explode it gets somewhat better during day but doesn't go away altogher.
