Re: High Blood Pressure & Buzzing in Ears??
I've not seen any references to tinnitus (ringing in the ears) as a symptom of hypertension. It could be some sort of an infection in the ENT (ear, nose, throat) system that may be causing this, in which case one of the body's responses when fighting an infection is an increase in blood pressure (even a common cold/flu can cause spikes in BP for some people). Or it could be some imbalance within the hearing system that is causing the ringing, which is why your doctor is sending you for hearing tests. Anyhow, it's good news that the noise is gone today - are you on any medications for this currently, whether BP medication or antibiotics? Has your sense of balance been affected since this began? Have you checked your BP today?
Headache is associated with hypertension as one of its symptoms when BP is quite high. But for many people, hypertension has no physical symptoms that you can feel.
In your case, I think it wise not to worry about it too much until all other causes have been ruled out.
