Seems like you're working yourself into panic mode a bit. STOP!
Your diastolic is by no means at a critical level.
Upping your dose this morning would not necessarily show improvement so soon.
Would love to see you NOT have to split your pills like this....You might get far more effective BP control with a simpler regimen and/or a different drug.
Are you still on methyldopa?
Just to calm you down a little, the systolic # is a far more important indicator of future cardiovascular risk...and your systolic is textbook gorgeous.
Continue to monitor yourself for a couple of weeks, perhaps only 3 times a day and do it at the same time each day. Don't forget to take it 1/2 hour before or after food, cigs or exercise. Arm limp and relaxed on table, feet on floor (UNCROSSED), back supported as well.
If you still see systolic climbing, maybe a change in meds will do the trick. Right now you really should not be panicking.
