bought a new monitor - is this good? - High & Low Blood Pressure Message Board

After hearing the wrist one is no good, I went to Rite Aid and bought the Omron Hem 705 Arm one. They were out of the 711, so the pharmacist recommended this. It has a print out and everything.

Anyway, I tested it against my wrist one and guess what? They were not off by very much.....The arm was 114/68 and wrist 108/68.

Am I okay with this monitor????

They should be this in the dr office! I have white coat syndrome and since I am pregnant and my readings are high in his office I bought one on my own to make sure I do not develop preeclampsia..............

That was a good idea. Now since you know your BP's good, you should bring the machine back! Hee hee. Or else you'll become a constant BP checker.

I got it because at all of my dr appts my blood pressure is high. I never had an issue, but since I am pregnant I wanted to keep an eye on it to make sure I do not develop preeclampsia or pregnancy induced hypertension since I have clotting disorders.
