I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. I'm finding my Systolic remains pretty consistent, it averages out at about 130 and drops down to 116 or up to 140 during the day but, in one set of readings it will remain consistent. An example of this would be today my Systolic hit 116,120 and 121 in the 3 readings but the diastolic can vary up to 10 or even 15points during 3 readings in succession, why is this happening? Is there an explanation?

My last set of numbers were:

139/82 (p)58
124/95 (p)57
132/87 (p)56

what is happening there? why a 13 point jump in the diastolic? Also, why does the systolic drop 15pts like that? Is it something I should be concerned about? It has been bothering me for a few days now.

Scout,

1st off relax.When I feel anxious my 1st reading could be 137/85. My next reading could be 122/73 & the 3rd one will be 116/65. B/P varies as much as 30 points in a few minutes. Don't let it get to you. I know that it is hard, but trust me. The less that I think about it, the happier I am. Take a log of your B/P readings a couple of times a week. I have done this for 20 months. I don't do it everyday, 3 times a day. That would drive me nuts. Don't take it when you feel sick, or antsy. Just relax. Take a log. What I do now is take my B/P 4 times & average the 3rd & 4th readings. They are typically much more accurate. I give it about 6-8 minutes in between readings. At most I will take it 15 times a month, which is still too much imo.
