Going to the doc. At 34, 5 '11 150, this shouldn't be my 5th or 6th time this year, but I have had all of the tests run & everything has turned out fine. I want off of the Atenolol 100 MGS & Lotrel 5/20. I want to feel like myself. I feel nervous even thinking about my 11:30 appointment, but I have a lot to go over

1) Lethargy around 3 everyday during the work week s**ks.

2) My face is more red than ever taking meds. He recommended Oil Of Olay SPF 15, but it hasn't really helped. I am fair-skinned. He checked for Roscea & said that wasn't causing it. My fair skin was. What about the meds??? They could cause some of that as well...

3) I know that this sounds foolish, but I'm concerned that I might be too thin at 150 & 5' 11". When I started taking meds. 20 months ago. I was around 156-157 or so. When I wake up in the morning, my stomach is sometimes upset... sometimes I feel like a champ. I don't get it.

4) I need to relax.

Axe, good luck and be persistent. If you really want off the med, i suggest you ask the dr what could be the worst case scenario. I wanted off the meds and i just took myself off the meds. Now after reading my new bp books i ordered, i think i will have to go back on them. I hated toprol xl the worst, but according the book, the dr might have seen something wrong with my heart and that's why i was put on toprol xl.

I canceled my cardio appt for today, but will be seen next Wed. I hope you ask a lot of ??? and get some answers as to why you're losing weight, why you're turning red, what can be done to stop or reverse some of the side effects. Good luck and keep us posted.
