| Where To Go From Here...
I see the end of the tunnel, but it doesn't include anymore incompetent GP's
Of course God only knows what he will say next time, as he changes his mind ALOT!!
Yes I know. When I went to my 2nd doc. who was part of his office she said that Atenolol would be the 1st drug that I would be weaned off of. The 1st time I saw this doc. he said that I have white-coat, the 2nd time he said that I need to stay on Atenolol & Lotrel even with my averages & 120/78 in his office, this time at 156/85, he says he is not sure that it is white-coat (I guess that is why it decreases about 35 points on the 1st # & 11 on the 2nd when I am out of his office).
Why would they test kidney function 6 months after a blood test that showed that everything was fine. It seems way premature & about the $'s. Why would he need to see me again in 4 months??? To weigh me & take my B/P & tell me that maybe I should be off of the meds., but maybe I should stay on them as a precaution.
I think that I will just go to the specialist that a friend referred me to. He specializes & gives lectures for U of M, but doesn't see patients too often. He mentioned white-coat when I showed him my readings & explained the situation. He said that the 1st thing that he would do is wean me from 100 MGS of Atenolol down to 50 MGS & keep going from there. Now that is someone that knows what they are doing.
